Jamie + Bobby : The Estate on the Halifax Wedding

The Estate on the Halifax | Daytona Beach, Florida

Crazy enough, when Sam and I arrived at the Estate on the Halifax for Jamie and Bobby’s wedding it was pouring rain. Even though my weather app showed nothing but sunshine. Thats not even the best part. My camera bag was on the ground when I ran back to retrieve my light stands. Next thing I know, Sam is yelling. I came back to find a little friend in my bag. Yes, there was a frog and yes, I screamed when he jumped out (you can check out my instagram to see him). A little wet from the rain and tears of laughter, we finally got our day started capturing the details and getting ready images. The one of Jamie sitting on a piano bench is one of my favorite images of the day.

But this isn’t where their love story begins. Their mothers were friends. Jamie and Bobby actually first met when they were 3 years old – there is even a picture of them sitting on the beach together. Time passed and the families lost contact. However, thanks to social media and a mutual friend, they were able to reconnect. Shortly after Bobby joined the Navy, he was stationed in Nevada. On the way to their new home, the couple decided to take a road trip. Their first stop was at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. While posing for a photo by the landmark, Bobby dropped to one knee and asked Jamie to marry him.

Which brings me back to their wedding. Thankfully the rain stopped and it was they day they both had dreamed of. I asked them what their favorite part of being married was and Jamie said, “Honestly, the best part about being married is getting to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Having a spouse and a best friend all in one is one of life’s most charitable gifts.”
