Hi there! Thanks for your patience as I redesign my blog - can't wait to share.

Meet Katie Belle : A Newborn Portrait

Jacksonville | Florida

I absolutely love when I get to be part of family and be there for all their special moments. I think its the coolest part of being a photographer. I first had the privilege of shooting the couple at Chris’s homecoming for his military deployment. If you look close enough, you’ll see one of the photo in Katie’s nursery. I later shot their engagement and wedding. I was thrilled when I learned that they were expecting a little girl and even more excited when they asked me to take her newborn pictures. Miss Katie Belle was born March 30, 2017; 8:30 am, 6 lb and 3 oz. She was 37 weeks & delivered at St. Vincent’s Southside.

About a week or so later I meet the Walker family at their home. Katie had the most adorable pink and grey nursery with little woodland animals. For the shoot, I had splurged at Michaels and picked up a tin bucket and flowers. Thankfully, they had just laid hardwood flooring and had some extra panels. They made the perfect backdrop and I think really made the difference. I am so happy for Chris and Kari and can’t wait to see how their family grows. I asked Kari what her favorite part about being a new mom was and this is what she had to say,  “My favorite part about being a new Mom? Wow that’s hard! Katie completes our family. I am loving the days I’m getting to spend bonding with her right now and am enjoying every moment of her being little. I’m trying not to blink because I know it’s going to go by so fast! I love getting to share this with Chris also because I already knew he was an amazing father, so getting to see him with a daughter just completes everything!”

Taylor Bateh : An Alpine Grove Senior Portrait

    Alpine Grove Senior Portrait

Alpine Grove Park | Fruit Cove, Florida

Graduating from high school is an exciting time. It’s that magical time in our lives when we get to branch out and discover who we are. Thats also why senior portraits are so much fun. I get to capture this moment and show off their personality. I wish everyone took pictures like this when I was a senior. Mine was in a studio and for some crazy reason I thought it was a good idea to wear white pants and a drama shirt.

I was so happy when I got an email from Renee. She wanted to schedule a shoot for her daughter, Taylor after I had taken her niece Ashlyn’s portraits last fall. Taylor is a senior at Episcopal High School and wanted her senior portraits at Alpine Grove Park. It was a beautiful evening and I loved that Taylor braved walking under the dock and even climbed onto this large piece of drift wood. They made my favorite pictures of the shoot. It was a pretty combination with the light and her white dress. Taylor has an amazing smile and great personality. I know she will be successful as she attends the University of Florida in the fall.

Nicole + Steven : An Alpine Grove Maternity

      Alpine Grove Maternity

Alpine Grove Park | Fruit Cove, Florida

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer are the opportunities I have to meet new people and capture the special moments in their lives. Nicole and Steven are expecting their first child. Today we celebrated this exciting time with a maternity session at Alpine Grove Park. I like shooting at this park and my favorite space is the old plantation house with the wrap around porch. The white home created the perfect reflector. It allowed us to shoot in low light and still get those light and airy images. I loved Nicole’s navy dress and accessories. As we walked around the park we laughed and I think Steven’s sense of humor will make him a great dad. I am excited for them both and can’t wait to meet their little boy, Cameron.

Kimberly + Phil : A Memorial Park Wedding Anniversary

        Memorial Park | Jacksonville, Florida

Twenty-six years of marriage is something to be celebrated. Kimberly and Phil wanted to capture that love with a anniversary session. We meet at St. Paul’s Catholic Church where they originally exchanged vows. Then headed to Memorial Park to make some new memories. They met in 1990. Phil was a ballroom dance instructor and was teaching a women Kim worked with. She was about 15 years older and was coming on to him when he told said she wasn’t his type. So, she asked what was his type. He replied, long red hair with ringlets, nice looking, smart and sassy. She said, I work with her. That same coworker told Kim about a party at the dance studio. It was there that they first meet, danced and fell in love.

Phil was going into the army to fly helicopters and Kim was going to college. They wrote to each other while he was away and on one visit home, he proposed at a park on their favorite bench. They were suppose to get married on February 9th – the anniversary of the day they met, but the Army and Desert Storm had another idea. That meant planning their wedding in less than two weeks. Because they were so young, Kim hadn’t finished paying for her dress, so she had to get married in a white suit instead. They had a simple wedding and moved to Alaska right after where Phil was stationed.

For years, Kim had dreamed about having professional pictures taken. One day, Phil said, why don’t we just do it and stop talking about it. Thats were I came in. I had just shot Kim’s niece Jessica’s wedding and they reached out to me about capturing this special anniversary session. It was hard not to get caught up in the emotion in the day. Kim finally got to wear the dress she bought 26 years ago. I was super impressed that it fit perfectly. I asked Kim what her favorite part was and she said, “It was a story book day with lots of sweet kisses, gentle nuzzles and little giggles. I am truly blessed that my husband was so willing to make my wedding picture dreams come true.”

The Daigle Family : Treaty Oak Park

          Treaty Oak

Treaty Oak Park | Jacksonville, Florida

I was truly delighted when Samantha reached out to me about doing family photos. Sam and her husband Stephen were one of my first wedding couples. I also felt a little old because their eldest son, Sawyer was one of my very first newborn sessions! I’m always grateful to those gave me the opportunity to become the artist I am today. And now after 6 years, I get to capture this sweet, energetic family again. When planning their shoot, Sam had sent me a few Pintrest ideas and Treaty Oak Park fit them perfectly. The Treaty Oak is a large Southern live oak in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The tree is estimated to be 250 years old and may be the single oldest living thing in Jacksonville. It is also a great space for the boys, Sawyer and Swede to run, throw leaves and climb the immense branches. I wish I had pictures like this of my sisters and I at this age. I had so much fun with the Daigle family and as always laughed the entire time. I think my favorite quality is their ability to be spontaneous and silly.
