Tracey + Troy : A Riverside Wedding

Riverside Warehouse | Jacksonville, Florida

Tracey and Troy had their wedding at a friend’s warehouse in Riverside. It was was a unique location that had a lot of opportunities to be creative. Her flowers were beautiful and even had an artichoke in it. I shot them near a rusted bucket, old bike wheel and tire I found on the side of the building – I loved the contrast. Their friend is an artist and had the coolest array of items in the warehouse. One of my favorite spots was inside with a white jaguar sculpture. I had so much fun with Tracey and Troy and their wedding was full of personal touches. Tracey made all of the decorations and their wedding ceremony had a bonfire were they had to write down a bad habit in their relationship. Then they each threw the paper into the fire. Tracey gave up “indifference” and Troy gave up “passive aggressiveness.” Once the vows were complete – the real party began. Their guest were entertained with a live band and the couple both took a turn behind the mic. This Riverside wedding had a little of everything and wish them both all the happiness in the world.

Meet Brooke Faulkner : Newborn Portrait

    St. Johns, FL

I have had the privilege of shooting the Faulkner family for a few years now and excited to welcome their newborn baby girl, Brooke Annette. The anticipation was well worth the wait and she couldn’t be cuter. Brooke is such a cuddle bug and was especially happy when swaddled. For this shoot, I got to use the most adorable bows that were made at Lindsay’s baby shower and try out some some new cheesecloths that my sister Sam dyed. I wish the very best for this family and can’t wait to capture the adventure.

Stephanie + Mark : Arizona Maternity

      Yuma, Arizona

I get to gush a little in this post. My sister, Stephanie is expecting baby Gunnar in November. I am beyond excited and as a first time aunt, I wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to shoot her maternity pictures. Recently, my mom, Sam and I went to Arizona to throw Steph a baby shower. The challenges of planning and throwing a shower out of town is having to do everything: shopping, cooking, decorating all the day before. It went perfect and it was great to meet all my sister’s friends.

The next day was all about pictures!! I wasn’t exactly sure where we were going, but trusted my brother-in-law and his jeep to get us there. I found the hardest thing was finding shade. Its hot, sunny and a desert. Luckily, we found a dried riverbed with surrounding brush that made the perfect backdrop for this Arizona maternity. Ok, almost perfect – there was one very stubborn horse fly that was determined to follow us around. I fell in love with the golden light, rocks, mountain background and a dead tree that I couldn’t have placed in a better spot if I tried. We had a great time and I am eager to return and meet my nephew.

Karen + Gary : Washington Oak Gardens State Park

Washington Oak Gardens State Park | Palm Coast, Florida

Washington Oak Gardens State Park is gorgeous and I absolutely love shooting there. This summer I meet a wonderful couple there, Karen and Gary, who wanted to capture this time in their lives. They have been married for 2 years and met through a mutual friend that was stationed in Hawaii with Gary. Karen worked for Disney where they had their first date there and honeymoon. They are very excited for Gary to finish his commitment with the Navy and for Karen to enroll in law school.  Because of all these changes the photoshoot was so important to them. It is the time of their lives where “we are happy, young and ready to face all the upcoming adventures.”

Ashley + Jacob : A Koteckis Grandview Grove Wedding

          ©becphotography_koteckis-grandview-grove-west-seneca-ny-wedding-ashley+jacobbull

Koteckis Grandview Grove | West Seneca, New York

Ashley and Jake met at his family’s annual “Bull Motorcycle Run,” which happens to be August 18th every year. Ashley was a bit nervous to ride on a motorcycle, but with a little encouragement from Jake’s sister Michelle, she ended up taking a ride of a lifetime. In between all the fast turns and beautiful scenery something special happened. Two weeks later was their first date, and the rest is blissful history.  Two years later, Ashley and Jake have a tradition in fall of having a “pumpkin carve-off.” Once they completed their carvings, a close inspection of was done to determine the winner when Ashley pulled the top of the pumpkin and hanging from the top was a thin piece of thread. Attached was a gorgeous and sparkly diamond ring! Jake got on one knee and proposed. Ashley’s response was an instant, YES!

Ashley and Jake were married at the Hamburg Wesleyan Church with their closest friends and family. On route to the reception, we made a few photo stops: the Buffalo Bills Stadium and Chestnut Ridge – fun side note, our dad took Sam and I there to sled when we were little. Koteckis Grandview Grove was a beautiful venue and my favorite part was the yard in the back with the broken fence. It made a great location to squeeze in a few last portraits of the couple before the party. You can tell that Ashley really thought of everything. All the decoration had personal touches and the cake was even made by a close friend. It was a wonderful day and so happy we could be there to celebrate with this amazing couple.
