Nicole + Alex : A Serenata Beach Club Wedding

Serenata Beach Club | Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

Nicole and Alex met in high school their sophomore year and did the long distance relationship in college -they endured the time apart put lots of miles driving back and forth. A little over 10 years of dating when Alex proposed in Destin, Florida on the beach at sunrise.  The couple now live in Michigan, but wanted their wedding to be close to home and family. From the very beginning of the Nicole and Alex’s day everything was effortless. With the help of a great dining room table and natural lighting I took some of my favorite detail shots ever. The flowers were gorgeous with pops of red and who knew a simple tea cup could make such a huge impact. Nicole and Alex celebrated their ceremony and reception at the Serenata Beach Club in Ponte Vedra Beach. The evening was full of love, great music and non-stop dancing. Thank you Nicole and Alex for letting me be part of your special day.

    Corrine + Ben : A Washington Oaks Gardens Engagement

    Washington Oaks Gardens State Park | Palm Coast, Florida

    I meet Corrine and Ben at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park almost one year to the date of their wedding to shoot their engagement session. I love this park and completely worth the drive. It sits between Palm Coast and Crescent Beach along A1A. It’s one of those places that has a little of everything with beautiful walking gardens and a stone beach. This couple were naturals in front of the camera and Ben nailed the nuzzle. They weren’t the only ones, Brody their golden doodle, was simply adorable. My favorite shots of the day were taken on the beach access path right at sunset  – the golden light was amazing.

      Chelsea + Ryan : A Old McMicky’s Farm Wedding

      Old McMicky’s Farm | Odessa, Florida

      Chelsea and Ryan’s story is sweet and makes me smile. They met their freshmen year of college after Chelsea’s determination to meet the cute boy in class – she stole his name & email address off the sign in sheet. The rest they say is history. After dating for ten years Ryan planned a surprise engagement at a small fishing cabin in the middle of the woods. Two of his best friends were hiding in the trees to capture it all. Their love of the outdoors made Old McMicky’s Farm the perfect venue for their wedding. While Sam and I were shooting details and the property the most adorable brown calf walked right up to us (you’ll see him below – I couldn’t leave him out). After all the running around of getting ready, we meet near an old boat house to do Ryan and Chelsea’s first look. You could see how excited they were to get married. They exchanged their vows next to a beautiful lake and celebrated with friends and family through the night. I had so much fun with this couple and look forward to see what the future has in store for them.

        Jessica + Michael : A Guy Harvey Outpost Islander Resort Wedding

        Guy Harvey Outpost Islander Resort | Islamorada, Florida

        I love traveling for weddings and this time Sam and I drove south to the Guy Harvey Outpost Islander Resort in Islamorada, Florida. I was so honored to be shooting the wedding of my sorority big sister. Jessi and I have know each other for sixteen years and I was so happy to see my best friend marring the perfect man. Their day was everything you would want from a Key West wedding – blue skies, palm trees and an amazing party. One of the coolest parts was after the “I do’s,” the couple danced with their guests from the beach to the beat of a Junkanoo band (if you’ve never seen or been in one – I recommend it). It was a surprise that Jessi and Mike kept from everyone, including their family. There were so many personal touches, like the band, that made their day truly original. I loved her bouquet, which included tropical flowers and mini pineapples; the table-scapes had drift woods and the placeholders had guests’ names on limes. I wish these newlyweds all the happiness in the world.

          Ashley + John : A Sugar Mill Country Club Wedding

          Sugar Mill Country Club | New Smyrna Beach, Florida

          For my first wedding of the busy season, Sam and I drove south to New Smyrna Beach to shoot at Sugar Mill Country Club. I always enjoy new venues and the opportunity to be creative. Ashley and John had an early ceremony, which meant plenty of sun. Now I’m not one to complain about having light, but sometimes too much can be an issue. Thankfully, I found a spot near the entrance with one little tree. It was just enough shade to capture my favorite pictures of the day. The best part about Ashley and John’s wedding was their reception. During the father-daughter dance, they broke into a line dance and the party didn’t stop there. Everyone danced the entire night, and I learned some new moves along the way. I wish Ashley and John all the best and know that this is only the beginning.
